NEW YEAR, NEW PEAKS!

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language. And next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.”

T.S. Elliot

I’ll write something that is personal. I know this may not be something that is of great help. I just want to say something personal in this blog to start off my year inspiring.

“Why do bad things happen to good people?” I have asked this question so many times after all that I had been through this year. I am unsure if I am one of the good people, but what I knew is that I am sensitive to other’s feelings and I always make sure to make amends when I do something wrong. I hope this makes me a good person already.

Last year had been a roller coaster. Rejections, life disappointments, self-procrastination, self-doubt, lack of self-confidence and motivation then this led me to a bitter approach to life.

When a close friend of mine (more like a sister), Ate Agnes, asked me to join her in Mt. Pinatubo, I did not hesitate. I am unsure why, but I felt like I need to breathe and reconnect with nature. It was followed by another invite that made it a lot better, and it gave me comfort until I hike alone and invite another friend Rezia and Allen.

Ate Agnes and two other joiners in our Mt. Pinatubo 4×4 hike.
Allen is wearing white shirt and we finished Cawag Hexa together.
Ate Agnes, I and other two Vietnamese joiners in Mount Ayngat, Tanay Rizal.
Rezia and I at Mount Batulao summit.

I shared the comfort I found from mountain hiking to my close circle. It changed my approach to life. It’s magical, if not, some may call it, a Miracle.

I met so many types of hikers. We shared same comfort the mountains gave us. Many of them shared stories of climbing the highest and the most difficult peaks in the country. This made me also aim to climb those peaks.

This was our Mascap Year-End hike which I failed because of knee injury. We were all joiners and when they shared their stories, it was like we’ve known each other for years.

More than the stories alone and experiences they shared, I also realized that there are still many mountains to climb, skills to acquire, and fears to overcome.

This was in Baggao, Cagayan. This photo was taken in underwater falls cave.

This year would be a year of self-discovery, and a year of knowing that I am limitless. My story last year would not be left wasted; instead, it would be a lifetime learning.

I wrote in one of my Facebook posts that 2024 will be a year of conquering my fears, test my patience and endure, and continuously learn about many things for business and long-term personal goals.

No more begging for chances, no more chasing, and most of all no more regrets. Just Let Go, Let God, Let it Be!

More summits to conquer and a higher altitude to achieve!

If you want to join me in my Ahons message me on my social media accounts linked in this blog.
