“Mountains know secrets we need to learn, that it may take time, it might be hard, but if you hold on long enough you will find the strength to rise up.”
– TYLER KNOTT –
Is life really unfair? Is it about just finding a job for money so you can buy the things you want and then die? Why do I have to experience so much pain from people whom I love unconditionally? Do I have to beg for someone to stay? Is it me? Do I have to take all the blame? I asked these questions most of the time which I often just left it unanswered.

Those unanswered questions led me to a soul-searching journey I couldn’t resist. Started with just one, now I have conquered my 24th summit of this year. Conquering these summits wasn’t just a physical challenge; it became a profound journey of the spirit. Each peak represented a personal milestone, a testament to perseverance and self-discovery.

The journey began on a simple invitation from friends. It was Mt. Ulap. I can still recall the struggle to reach the summit. I’m used to walking long distance but hiking hits different when you’re in an elevated area. The thrill of the climb pulsed through my veins as I took my first steps, the path ahead winding like my own uncertainties. With each ascent, I felt the weight of the world lift, replaced by a sense of purpose and clarity.

Years passed now, I’m here on the trail again. And as I progressed, each summit unfolded its own story. Each peaks taught me patience. I learned to slow down, to savor the beauty of the moment, rather than rush to the top. The summit introduced me to the power of teamwork. Climbing with friends, we shared laughter and struggles, forging bonds that would last long after the descent.

As I conquered each peak, I began to notice the subtle changes within myself. I decided to visit the highest peaks of Bukidnon, with its breathtaking views, reminded me of the beauty of perspective. I watched the sunrise paint the sky in hues of gold, reignited my passion for life. With every summit conquered, I shed old layers of fear and doubt, embracing the fearless adventurer I was becoming.

Standing at the top, I felt a profound sense of connection—not just to the mountains, but to the world and myself. The challenges I faced along the way had taught me resilience, humility, and the importance of gratitude.

Conquering 24 summits became more than a physical feat; it was a soul-satisfying journey that redefined my understanding of strength and purpose. Each peak symbolized a step toward embracing my true self, reminding me that the journey itself is as important as the destination. In the end, I discovered that the greatest summit to conquer is the one within.
